Mayor’s Office Budget
In Jacksonville’s strong mayoral form of government, the mayor is the city’s full-time chief executive. The Mayor’s Office oversees and manages the day-to-day operations of the city’s executive branch, which includes all departments and divisions.
The mayor has set his priorities as increasing economic opportunity in Jacksonville, reducing crime, and the protection and promotion of the St. Johns River.
The office works with City Council to enforce ordinances, create new laws and implement an annual budget. All media relations and communications activities on behalf of the city are managed through this office, as well as legislative activities at the local, state and federal levels. Several programs, initiatives and special projects including The Jacksonville Journey and the city’s various boards and commissions are housed within the mayor’s office. There are 15 employees in this office.
