2010/2011 Budget Hearing Meeting Dates

Notice is hereby given that Finance Chair, Daniel Davis will meet with the Finance Committee members in Council Chambers located at 117 W. Duval St., 1st Floor, St. James Building on the following dates to discuss the 2010-2011 Budget.

Thurs., 8/12/10 – 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.)

Thurs., 8/19/10 – 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.)

Thurs., 8/26/10 – 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.)

Office of the Director, Public Works

This office, with a staff of 14, oversees the five Public Works divisions, administers the Better Jacksonville Plan, and manages the Jacksonville Stormwater Utility by establishing policies and procedures and providing financial, managerial and administrative support.

The Office of the Director of Public Works is responsible for the management of the Duval County Courthouse construction project. It also oversees the collection of the city’s solid waste and storm water fees and is working to enhance the billing procedures to reduce costs and increase the rate of collection. 

Budget:

In 2010, the budget for this division is $2,112,023.
