Planning and Development Department
This department plans, permits and regulates construction in the city. Its goal is to create a city of distinctive, healthy and sustainable neighborhoods. Within it are five divisions:
- Office of the Director – Operates the department.
- Building and Zoning Inspection – Responsible for ensuring that existing and future development complies with city code.
- Community Planning – Maintains the City’s Comprehensive Plan.
- Current Planning – Addresses short-term growth and development issues through zoning.
- Development Services – Regulates local land development.
Budget:
The total budget, which includes the General Fund and Special Revenue Funds for the Planning and Development Department is $18,435,723.
The General Fund - GSD budget is $7,916,202.
