2010/2011 Budget Hearing Meeting Dates

Notice is hereby given that Finance Chair, Daniel Davis will meet with the Finance Committee members in Council Chambers located at 117 W. Duval St., 1st Floor, St. James Building on the following dates to discuss the 2010-2011 Budget.

Thurs., 8/12/10 – 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.)

Thurs., 8/19/10 – 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.)

Thurs., 8/26/10 – 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.)

Training, Evaluation and Research

This division provides a variety of training opportunities for parents, as well as adults who work with children.  It also works with children and teens to promote positive development and enhance leadership skills.

This year the division will provide training for Team Up sites as part of The Jacksonville Journey program. Division staff will again partner with non-profits to operate summer camps that will serve at least 800 summer camp employees, volunteers and junior counselors. It also screened and trained more than 1,000 mentor volunteers.

It will also partner with the Mayor’s office to provide youth development training to City of Jacksonville employees during the Mayor’s Summer Jobs program. This division has five employees.

Budget:

In 2010, the budget for the Training, Evaluation and Research Division is $405,978.
