2010/2011 Budget Hearing Meeting Dates

Notice is hereby given that Finance Chair, Daniel Davis will meet with the Finance Committee members in Council Chambers located at 117 W. Duval St., 1st Floor, St. James Building on the following dates to discuss the 2010-2011 Budget.

Thurs., 8/12/10 – 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.)

Thurs., 8/19/10 – 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.)

Thurs., 8/26/10 – 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.)

Emergency Medical Services (Rescue)

This unit provides pre-hospital medical care to minimize the loss of life in the event of an emergency. It has 272 employees that operate 34 rescue units throughout the city.

Equipment will be updated, including new cardiac monitors and a new server will be installed by the Information Technology Department to better retrieve critical data. All patient data collected in the cardiac monitors will be transferred electronically to each patient care report.

Budget:

In 2010, the budget for this division $38,454,112.

Did You Know?

Rescue expects to make nearly 55,000 EMS transports in 2010, up from approximately 54,000 in 2009. This is in addition to approximately 35,000 other calls where patients will either refuse transport or do not require hospitalization.
