2010/2011 Budget Hearing Meeting Dates
Notice is hereby given that Finance Chair, Daniel Davis will meet with the Finance Committee members in Council Chambers located at 117 W. Duval St., 1st Floor, St. James Building on the following dates to discuss the 2010-2011 Budget.
Thurs., 8/12/10 – 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.)
Thurs., 8/19/10 – 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.)
Thurs., 8/26/10 – 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.)

Accounting Division
The Accounting Division has 49 employees and provides accounting services and interim financial reports for all city departments. In addition, the division is responsible for processing payroll, paying vendors that provide services to the city, and preparing the city’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report which details the city’s financial status.
This division is responsible for ensuring city compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and various city, state and federal laws. This division will also provide accounting and reporting for new stimulus grants awarded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Budget:
In 2010, the budget for the Accounting Division is $4,335,368.

Did You Know?
The Accounting Division has won the Government Finance Officers Association “Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting” award for the last twenty-nine years. In 2010, the city will make about 209,000 direct payroll deposits.
