2010/2011 Budget Hearing Meeting Dates

Notice is hereby given that Finance Chair, Daniel Davis will meet with the Finance Committee members in Council Chambers located at 117 W. Duval St., 1st Floor, St. James Building on the following dates to discuss the 2010-2011 Budget.

Thurs., 8/12/10 – 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.)

Thurs., 8/19/10 – 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.)

Thurs., 8/26/10 – 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.)

Human Resources Division

Human Resources assists departments and divisions in the hiring and career development of employees. Its staff of 75 employees provides a variety of training programs to meet the present and future needs of city government. It also develops and delivers employee benefits including health, life, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts and deferred compensation. 

Additionally, the division manages Labor Relations activities and is actively engaged in union negotiations with all City Bargaining Units, Fire, Police, Corrections, Jacksonville Supervisors Association, Labors’ International Union of North America, Communications Workers of America and American Federation of state County and Municipal Employees.  

Budget:

In 2010, the budget for the Human Resources Division is $95,605,123.

Almost 900 city employees have enrolled in the Leadership Development Academy, a program to fulfill training needs that were identified as necessary for our supervisors. The goal is to provide courses that will enhance supervisory skill levels through continuous learning.
