2010/2011 Budget Hearing Meeting Dates

Notice is hereby given that Finance Chair, Daniel Davis will meet with the Finance Committee members in Council Chambers located at 117 W. Duval St., 1st Floor, St. James Building on the following dates to discuss the 2010-2011 Budget.

Thurs., 8/12/10 – 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.)

Thurs., 8/19/10 – 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.)

Thurs., 8/26/10 – 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.)

Equal Business Opportunity/Contract Compliance Division

This division monitors city projects for small business compliance with the Jacksonville Ordinance Code, processes applications for certification, creates opportunities for certified small businesses through goal participation, reports on payment of city funds, facilitates the Access to Capital program, provides education and mentoring to the city’s small business community, reviews quarterly reporting, and provides support services for certified vendors.

It advocates for minority and small businesses by ensuring compliance with equal business practices on all city projects. The staff of 11 people works to promote Jacksonville’s economic growth by administering the Jacksonville Small and Emerging Business Program.

Budget:

In 2010, the budget for this division is $1,306,241.
